Akshobya Kadampa Buddhist Centre (charity no ——- RR0001) is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), which is made up of many meditation centres throughout the world, together with our publishers Tharpa Publications.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only store, use and disclose the information that we collect from you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). When you sign up for a course or other event, to receive the Newsletter, or make a donation, we will need to take information such as your name, address, email, phone number and bank card details. We will only use this information for such purposes as processing any payment you have made, providing the course, event or Newsletter that you have signed up for and for our records.
How we use your information
E-newsletter
If you have chosen to receive our Newsletter, this will include details of upcoming meditation classes, events, news and opportunities – for example, to volunteer or to help financially – offered by Akshobya Kadampa Buddhist Centre (AKBC) and other NKT-IKBU meditation centres. It may also include details of Buddhist books and other items offered by Tharpa Publications. AKBC uses a third party provider, Verical Response, to deliver our e-newsletters. Personal Information
We may need to share your personal information with third parties who perform services on our behalf. However, we will not share your email address or other personal information with any other organisation without your consent, unless we are required to do so by law.
Photos taken during events at Akshobya Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Images may be captured during events organized and hosted by Akshobya Kadampa Buddhist Centre charity using film photography, digital photography, video or other medium and may be used on the website, event publicity or brochures, other publicity material (such as internal and external newsletters, facebook).
Our website, Newsletter and other emails sometimes contain links to other websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to other websites so, if you visit them, you should read their own privacy policies.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
