Greening Alberta’s Highways: Spring Fundraiser for AKBC, May 1, 2021

On Sat May 1st, starting at 10 am, we will be off the cushion and into the ditches cleaning a 12km stretch of highway south of Okotoks. We need a minimum of 24 volunteers – anyone above 9 years old qualifies. It is a family event and youth are encouraged to help out. Highways will provide all necessary materials, provide safety videos and sponsor us at $100 per km of cleaned highway.

Please join us for this meaningful fundraiser, which helps the Centre financially and helps the planet.

If you are inspired to ‘get active’ we will need to have the names and contact information of all volunteers before the event so we can send you details of the location and the safety videos which are short and sweet – 2 at 6 min each. It is absolutely necessary that you watch these videos before the cleanup day so please sign up as soon as possible so we can send you all the necessary information.

Fundraising is necessary for your Centre to meet its expenses so please join us for this rewarding and surprisingly fun event. If you cannot be there on the cleanup day you can still give support by making a donation. It would be great if we could match the Ministry of Highways payment of $1200. We have already received a donation of $500 towards the cleanup so we only need $700 more to achieve that goal. I hope you will help us achieve our goals of making our 12 km of highway greener and/or matching the highways payment.
