Getting Out Of Your Own Way
July 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
We all want to avoid suffering and problems by overcoming obstacles to our happiness. Normally, we try to overcome obstacles by changing our circumstances—getting a better job, finding a better place to live. But eventually, we realize the new job has frustrations of its own, or we start to notice things we don’t like about the new place. We’ve overcome an obstacles to happiness only to encounter another.
In reality, what we call “obstacles” don’t come from the world at all—they come from our own mind, from our responses to life’s difficulties. We don’t usually understand this, so we blame the world and others for imposing obstacles on us—this just makes even less
When we realize the only obstacles to our happiness come not from outside but from within, we can learn to respond to them with positivity and a peaceful mind, and they stop being obstacles entirely.
Everyone is welcome!
